Give the baby water, tea, or diluted milk when they are sick or when the weather is hot

It’s true that drinking water makes us, adults, feel better. But this isn’t true when it comes to babies. It can be dangerous for their health, especially for babies that are less than 4 months because it could cause sodium imbalance.

Babies sleep better on their bellies

It’s true that parents can hardly sleep when they have a newborn and that could lead to making them try anything to make their babies sleep better. This includes placing the babies on their bellies. This is information that is outdated. Babies should always sleep on their backs to prevent SIDS. so new parents should always be up-to-date when it comes to this kind of information.

Fevers should always be treated

For adults, medicine helps with fever because the body helps us fight the infection. However, for babies, it’s not necessary to treat them when they have a high temperature. Any fever should be checked to see if there is any virus, vaccine, ear infection, teething or many more. Panicking and letting the baby consume multiple medications to lower the temperature can be dangerous for the baby. What’s important is that the child is comfortable and hydrated.

Holding the baby too much can spoil it

It’s actually recommended for babies that are in their first few months after being born to have a lot of skin-to-skin contact. But you don’t have to carry them around all the time. This is to soothe and calm the baby down when they are crying or restless.

Constipated baby

Babies have different bowel movement routines. When they haven’t pooped in a few days then there is nothing to worry about. New parents shouldn’t worry about this. Unless the poop looks like pellets or has blood in it then the baby is not constipated.
